I love the textured features throughout the room, it’s above and beyond what most Disney World (or any other) hotels offer. We ended up in a 2-bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge – Jambo House during our June trip with my family. There were 7 adults and 1 kid in our party and we ended up using DVC points to get our room. The room was a 2-bedroom lock-off meaning that this is a studio room joined with a 1-bedroom villa.

The room’s square footage is roughly 1,075 feet which is just below average compared to the other Walt Disney World resorts. Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kidani Village ups the square footage to 1,150 feet while Old Key West easily has the largest at 1,395 feet. If you need lots of space then this may be something to keep in mind. That said, most of these resorts hold the same amount of people and Jambo House uses its space well. These rubber and plastic wrist bands can function as your room key, park admission, charge card, and more! MagicBands cost money, but if you'd like a free option you can use the official Disney World app on your phone or request an RFID-embedded card at the front desk.
What types of recreation are available?
The couch is another pull-out and the chair turns into a twin size bed. The room felt spacious and was a great place to sit and relax at the end of the night. You can walk between the Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House and Kidani Village. For all other resort destinations, the fastest option is an Uber, Lyft, or taxi.

While Aulani and Animal Kingdom Lodge are very different thematically, both share that–and authentic design by Imagineer Joe Rohde and his team–in common. The significance of this savanna really cannot be over-emphasized. This looks like an African savanna, complete with 30 different species of animals. To have this at a hotel in Florida is pretty mind-blowing. (No one? Just me? Okay, moving on…) Returning back, the savanna was totally dark, but it was still peaceful to go out on our balcony and sit and relax. As we indicated in our Wilderness Lodge v. Animal Kingdom Lodge post, Jambo House is actually closer to every park than Wilderness Lodge, aside from Magic Kingdom. The same would hold true between Jambo House and any monorail loop resort and while I’m not going to run the numbers on every hotel, I’m betting it’s also true of a few others.

Instead of booking through Disney, I’d recommend looking into renting DVC points from a number of sites for the cheapest price possible. Disney provides free bus service to all theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs. It's almost always faster to drive your car if you have one, except to the Magic Kingdom. Disney resort guests get into each theme park 30 minutes earlier than off-site guests, every day. Complimentary standard self-parking is available for non-resort guests exploring dining, shopping, entertainment, and other experiences during the day. Kidani Village offers an array of recreational activities and facilities, including Samawati Springs, the resort’s feature pool and two spas, and Uwanja Camp, a uniquely themed wet activity playground.
The studio rooms at AKV Jambo House offer you a conventional DVC studio room with a queen bed and a sofa bed. The 1-bedroom DVC room offers a queen bed and a sofa bed and has the unusual perk of a bathroom that’s exterior to the bedroom. If you’re sharing your DVC room with others, not having to pass through the master bedroom to get to the bathroom is a rare treat.
