Disney fans often view Animal Kingdom Lodge as the “no parks” resort because of the perception that it’s isolated, and really far from every park (aside from Animal Kingdom). While there are some differences between Jambo House and Kidani Village, there are just as many similarities, such as both having fitness facilities, pools, animal look-outs, sundry locations, and activities. Guests staying at Animal Kingdom Villas can access all amenities offered at both Jambo House and Kidani Village. The Jambo House rooms have a distinct character that stay true to theme without going over the top into garishness. There’s a lot of texture and patterning here, from the detail in the woods to the carpet and in the art on the walls. In terms of decor, these rooms are really a matter of personal preference. They could be described as drab as the color palette isn’t exactly light and inviting, but I love the look. I think it works perfectly for the resort, and not every hotel needs to have an “uplifting” visual motif.
Is there a fee to park at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House Villas?
I was happy to stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge for the experience. I had read several reviews about how far away from everything it is, and that is the downfall of this resort. Rooms feature the standard amenities, including a hairdryer, TV, free WiFi, a coffee maker, telephone, in-room safe, and an iron and ironing board. There are also a range of views, including either one of the savannas, landscaping, pool, or the parking area. Disney has brought their theme parks into Disney+ in a whole new way. Sanaa is a beloved Table Service restaurant located in Kidani Village.
Boma
This wasn’t much of a downgrade since there are viewing spots throughout the entire resort. Still, if the view is important to you then check out some room views ahead of time and make a request online during early check-in. Uzima Springs Pool Bar Uzima Springs, the pool bar at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jambo House, is a very nice looking bar. It has a thickly thatched roof which is supported by several natural looking logs and, of course, it overlooks the large resort pool and the immaculate building. Wandering just to the end of the pool finds you near the one-of-a-kind (on Disney property anyway) savannah, where you can enjoy your drink while enjoying the peaceful movements of giraffes and zebras.

You can book it like any other Disney hotel room — either on Disney’s website, calling Disney’s Reservation Line, or with a travel agent. Even as the Disney Cast Member guides you around our site, they will be unable to access or view any files or information on your device or anything you type. We left for the park and still hadn’t seen anything. There are plenty of dining options available at Animal Kingdom Lodge, including lounges, Quick Service spots, and several Table Service choices, like the popular Sanaa (the bread service is a must!). At select locations, Mobile Ordering is also available. Although parking at Disney World resort hotels used to cost a nightly fee for resort guests, Disney has changed their policy so that parking is now free for all on-site resort guests.
Our guests were amazed by all the animals at the resort. Sanaa also has Table Service To Go, which allows guests to Mobile Order and take their meal back to their room. There’s one main pool at Jambo House, but the pool at Kidani Village is only a short walk. If you need a non-park day, we recommended spending the day at your hotel and enjoying the Disney Resort pool.
Then you can go straight to the room and use your smart phone or MagicBand to open the door, skipping the lobby altogether. Boma - Flavors of Africa Boma is consistently rated as one of the bestrestaurants in Walt Disney World—it’s as much an attraction at the AnimalKingdom Lodge as, well, the animals. Boma’s buffet includes fresh, seasonal,well-preparedofferings at each meal station. (Serving utensils arereplaced very often these days.) And the value, at both breakfast and dinner,is almost impossible to beat. Advance Reservations are a must—walkuptables here are few and far between. The accommodations at AKL are fantastic - roomy, clean and beautifully themed.
However, if you arrive without park tickets, head to the concierge desk in the hotel lobby. All Disney resorts participate in Disney’s Online Check-In program. If you’ve checked-in online and provided a mobile phone number or email address, you will receive your room number electronically.
The holiday season is the most expensive time of the year. It runs from mid-December to early-January as well as during Easter week. Anyone can stay at a DVC Resort or in a DVC Villa Room as long as there is space available.
That only goes for on-site hotels as they’re all expensive. Depending on the time of year, the room can be found for between $600-$700 a night. Saratoga Springs and Old Key West can be found for less but Animal Kingdom Lodge comes after that.

A few food items from Jiko can also be ordered here, although very few. We can’t recommend a special trip to Animal Kingdom Lodge just to visit Victoria Falls, but a stop here is well worth it if you find yourself nearby. For your DVC room request at Animal Kingdom Jambo House, ask for a room close to the lobby. If you end up on the ends of the resort’s horseshoe shape, it can be a long walk back to your DVC room after a day of park hopping. If you have a savanna view DVC room, make sure you check out the different savannas at AKV Jambo House.
Early check-in allows you to leave luggage with bell services, get your Magic Bands (if you don’t already have them) and head off to the parks or relax around the resort. You will be get a notification on My Disney Experience when you Room is ready. You will then be given your room number and your Magic Band will open your door! You can also use the app on your phone to open your door. Disney Vacation Club Members will not be charged for standard overnight self-parking when staying at a DVC Deluxe Villa, regardless of whether they use vacation points or another form of payment.
Both room types are some of the highest in-demand DVC rooms. If you need something in between, the standard view rooms compare well to other DVC rooms that are of good value. You can stretch your DVC points, you can splurge your DVC points, or you can land in the middle with your DVC points at AKV Jambo House. As far as prices go, Animal Kingdom Lodge’s 2-bedroom villa is one of the cheaper options for large parties at Disney World.
The master bedroom is similar to the studio portion of the room, just smaller. There is less artwork in the room but it’s still a nice space. On the other hand, I loved the decor in the living room. As you see in the photo above, the table and bench are a focal point. Extending the architecture style we see in the lobby into the room with pieces like the bench is a nice thematic choice. I really like the hanging lamps and painted plates by the table as well.
